2012 Calendar: The Italian police for Cameroon's children
Also this year the Italian police release a new calendar. It's a horizontal wall calendar (size 48x30 cm), entitled "Safer together", which features images inspired to everyday police activity. It will be sponsored by Italian celebrities from the world of entertainment, culture, and sport.
It was produced in collaboration with the students of the Experimental Centre of Cinematography in Rome, following the philosophy that has characterized the activity of the Italian police for some years now: bringing young people closer to institutions.
It's a calendar of value both for its photos and the solidarity aims it pursues. As every year, the proceeds of the sale will be allocated to a solidarity project, and this time they will go to the UNICEF programme to combat children malnutrition in Cameroon.
Thanks to the money collected from the sale of 2011 calendars, the Polizia di Stato could donate about 170 000 euros to the UNICEF programme in Bangladesh to help street children access basic supports, such as primary medical care, psycho-social support, education, vocational training for working children in view of their recovery and social reintegration.
How to order it
We hope that our initiative will be very successful this year as well. The calendar can be booked by Friday 18th November at police headquarters (Questure), showing a payment receipt on the postal account no. 745000, in favour of "Unicef Comitato Italiano", specifying "2012 Police Calendar for UNICEF project in Cameroon" in the reason for payment. The price is 8 euros for the wall calendar and 6 euros for the desk calendar.
