Internet safe surfing: tips for kids

CONDIVIDI

Internet is an amazing tool for entertainment and education but, before entering the cyberspace, there are a few things you need to know. Here is a checklist for safe surfing:

Never give out any information about yourself such as your name, surname, address, school name or telephone number, to someone you've met online.

Never send your pictures to someone you've met on the Internet without a parent or adult's consent.

Open your email when one of your parents is with you, checking in particular the attachments.

Tell you parents or teachers if something you read or look at on the Internet upsets or scares you, as for example, images of naked adults or children.

DON'T arrange to meet in-person anyone you've met on the Internet without telling your parents. Some people on the Internet lie about who they are, how old they are, and why they want to meet you. The girl you thought you were chatting with could really be an adult man!
