Italian police celebrate 160 years of service
Today
the Italian Police celebrate an important anniversary, marking 160 years of continuous service.
The official ceremony, will be held in Rome in the presence of President Napolitano and other public authorities. After the ceremony, citizens are invited to view a piece of our history as vintage police vehicles and uniforms will be on display in the beautiful setting of Piazza del Popolo, together with a real police helicopter.
This year's central theme will be the courage and innovation capacity which have characterized the organization since its founding.
Building good relationships with the community is a major part of our mission, that's why also this year we are going to celebrate our anniversary among the people in one of Rome most beautiful squares.
There is much to celebrate, but most of all this event is a way to reaffirm our commitment to protect and serve the whole community, in the most professional manner as possible.
