Francesco D'Aniello was born on March 21, 1969 in Nettuno, in the province of Rome. He was a full-time police officer until the age of 30, with a passion for hunting.

D'Aniello ran across clay shooting during a competition organized by his hunting club. He soon became keen on this sport and started practicing it as an amateur, until he met Pierluigi Pescosolido, who is in charge of the Fiamme Oro clay shooting sector. He realized that Francesco had a great potential and assigned him to the police sports group.

And so D'Aniello left the police operational service to devote himself completely to the his favorite sport he loves, which has now become his profession.

Fist he specialized in Olympic trap, then he moved to Double Trap. From that moment on he started to win major tournaments both with the crimson vest of the Fiamme Oro police sports group and the blue one of the Italian national team.

At 39 Francesco D'Aniello made his Olympic debut in Beijing in 2008 as reigning world champion, winning a fine and well deserved silver medal.

He will take part at the London 2012 Olympic Games as an accomplished champion, where he will have an opportunity to confirm his talent.
