Security: Alfano and Pansa visit the US
Interior Minister Angelino Alfano travelled to the United States accompanied by Police Chief Alessandro Pansa for a series of meetings with US government authorities in charge of homeland security.
During the trip, Prefect Pansa met the Director of the FBI James Comey and the Administrator of the DEA Michele Leonhart to re-affirm the joint commitment of the United States and Italy to strengthen cooperation in the ongoing fight against terrorism, organized crime, drug trafficking and cybercrime.
In New York City, Police Chief Pansa also met with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and visited "Ground Zero" along with Minister Alfano and a NYPD delegation. They participated in a wreath-laying ceremony to remember the victims of September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
