Athens: operational meeting on security in the Balkans

A working meeting on security in the Balkan area, with the participation of Italian experts and chaired by the Italian deputy police chief and criminal police director Fulvio Della Rocca, began yesterday in Athens.

During the two-day meeting participants will analyse critical issues and develop the operational strategies of the Department of Public Security in the Balkans. Participation was extended to the heads of area in Western Europe and the Middle East.

Prefect Della Rocca also met Greek Police Chief Dimitrios Tsaknakis and, subsequently, Cypriot deputy police chief Andreas Kyriakou. They confirmed the importance of their cooperative relationship, stressing the opportunity to further develop the information exchange between the two countries as well as with Interpol and Europol.
