Credit cards: a guide for traders

Traders should also take certain precautions, by making simple checks to reduce the chances of fraud:

1. If you suspect a cloned credit card is being used fraudulently, check whether there are differences between the number on the plastic support and the credit card number (15 or 16 digits) that is printed by the P.O.S. on the receipt. This number is just below the date and time of the transaction, sometimes preceded by the letter "C";

2. Check the P.O.S. terminal frequently in order to prevent tampering.
