Drive in Italy is the new educational project by the ANIA Foundation for Road Safety intended for foreign citizens who live and work in Italy, supported by the Italian National Police and the Ministry of Integration.

It is aimed to promote knowledge of the Italian Highway Code and improve awareness of Italy driving conditions, suggesting skills and behaviours needed to be a safe and responsible driver of all categories of vehicles.

This road safety course, specially designed for foreign drivers, is divided into 12 modules, and is available on a free e-learning platform developed by the ANIA Foundation, providing contents in Italian, English, Romanian Albanian, Chinese and Arabic.

Only foreigners holding a valid driving permit in Italy can enrol on the road safety course, by visiting the dedicated website http://driveinitaly.smaniadisicurezza.it.

Once registered, participants can access the e-learning platform and start the training course, which will take them on a virtual tour through 12 Italian cities. They can stop at any point.
To restart a session and continue from the point last left off, all they have to do is re-enter their login credentials.

All lectures have interactive animations and students have to take a test at the end of each module. This will allow them to achieve a final score.

The ANIA Foundation offers a free Safe Driving Course to the 1000 top ranking participants, giving them an opportunity to learn how to manage dangerous driving situations and keep safe on the road.

The one-day Safe Driving Course will take place in three important racetracks, one in Northern Italy (MWC Marco Simoncelli Circuit, Misano Adriatico/Rimini), one in Central Italy (Vallelunga Circuit, Campagnano/Rome), and one in Southern Italy (Sele Circuit, Battipaglia/Salerno), in order to allow everybody to easily reach them.

The Traffic Police Blue Coach will help disseminate the project all over Italy, visiting the Italian cities with the largest percentages of legally residing foreign-born people.

In the month of June, the Blue Coach will stop in Brescia (12-15), Verona (16-17); Padua (18-19), Reggio Emilia (20-21), Pisa (22-23), Perugia (24-25), Salerno (27-28), Lecce (30). In July, it will be in Lecce (1) and Crotone (3-4).
