Security: Italy and Mexico boost bilateral cooperation
A Memorandum of Understanding between Italy and Mexico was signed in Mexico City yesterday.
The agreement was part of the work of the Bi-national Commission Subcommittee on Legal Affairs and Security.
The Italian delegation, led by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Paolo Gentiloni, was composed of the Deputy Police Chief Fulvio Della Rocca, the Director of the Central Directorate for Anti-drug Services Sabino Cavaliere and the Director of the International Police Cooperation Service Gennaro Capoluongo.
The Memorandum of Understanding, signed by Prefect Della Rocca on the Italian side, will give new impetus to the exchange of technical and operational information in combating organized crime, money laundering and cybercrime.
Both parties acknowledged the importance of the exchange of information on extradition and mutual legal assistance procedures to make them more timely and effective.
