Il capo della Polizia a Singapore per l'inaugurazione del complesso mondiale Interpol per l?innovazione

Police Chief Alessandro Pansa is leading the Italian delegation attending the opening of the new Interpol Global Complex for Innovation (IGCI) in Singapore. During the event (13-15 April 2015) the Italian delegation will hold bilateral meetings with law enforcement representatives of a number of countries.

ICPO-Interpol's mission consists in fighting transnational crime, along with searching for fugitives and missing persons. The new IGCI facility will give police around the world the tools to confront the increasing challenges posed by criminals as they take advantage of new technology, thus becoming more aggressive in the areas of cybercrime and child sexual exploitation.

The IGCI will provide innovative training, operational support and partnerships, complementing the wide range of services already supplied by Interpol General Secretariat to its member countries, by implementing and streamlining information exchange and investigative cooperation.

Officers of the Postal and Communications Police will be posted to the Singapore Interpol centre to follow investigative activities in support of the Italian district sections.

In the digital area, technology has become a powerful ally to police forces, providing secure communication channels and innovative tools and capabilities to confront the increasingly sophisticated and ingenious challenges posed by criminals.

This Singapore-based Command and Coordination Centre reinforces those already in place in Lyon and Buenos Aires, providing global operational support to the 190 Interpol member countries, hence laying the foundations for a real worldwide security network.
